If you’ve ever come upon a field full of sunflowers in bloom, you’ll know the unexpected pleasure it can bring. This month, PAPA’s challenge word was “Sunflower” and new member Marley Duncan provided another perspective to consider with her piece titled, Where the Seeds Blow. In addition to capturing the bright contrast of the yellow petals against the dark center, she’s added texture and suggested movement. As a result, we imagine we’re actually seeing seeds floating on the wind in a bright blue sky.
Our special challenge exhibit is practically glowing with sunflower images. It’s not exactly a field full of flowers, but come by this month to immerse yourself in the next best thing with all the variations of sunflowers our artists created for your enjoyment. You can also take advantage of our additional open hours on Sunday this weekend from 10 – 3pm. We love to see our art through new eyes so drop in and simply enjoy art with us!
