In the age of doorbell cameras, we find surprising “visitors” on a fairly regular basis at my house and perhaps yours too. May’s People’s Choice painting, aptly titled Doorbell Camera, might win the prize as one of the most entertaining visitors we’ve seen. Jenny Fuller has a wonderful ability to capture the personality of the critters she often paints and you can easily imagine any number of things that her subject may be thinking here. While often highlighting the humor in the scene, Jenny takes care to make her subjects soft and relatable and it’s no wonder visitors to the gallery are drawn to her work.
