Where do you suppose these little critters are going? PAPA artist Chad McLaren makes you curious in this month’s People’s Choice painting, “The Beetles.” Some of you might wonder if he’s channeling another foursome walking over a crosswalk. These little brightly colored critters make a statement all their own though and tend to make you look a little closer to see what’s going on. Chad’s paintings are full of expressive color and if his color choices surprise, they seem to always perfectly convey something about his chosen subject. For example, who would have thought the surface of a crosswalk could be so interesting?
