Julie Brigance has the following to say, as an artist:
I, like many of my PAPA friends, have had a life-long love for art. Mine began with my talented, artistic mother. I grew up drawing and painting everything – even on Easter eggs. At school I was always decorating for holidays and bulletin boards, etc.
I was born and raised in Paducah. I graduated from St Mary’s Academy. I graduated from St Mary of the Woods college in Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics.
My fourth son was in high school when I had time to enroll at PCC for art classes. There I met some amazing, fun art students with whom I painted for three years. I also took a class at the new art institute for one year. Since then, I have attended art workshops with Clyde Lawter, Joy Thomas, Cleda Curtis, Don Sahli, and Tommy Fletcher.
I am a “hobby artist” and have enjoyed giving my paintings to family and friends. Art has been a joy ride for me, and I am so grateful to my art friends for all their encouragement and critiquing through the many years.
Julie’s show will be available for viewing for the month of May Come in and see it before all the pieces go back to their homes. AND we have just put up a brand new members show, AND a new Challenge Exhibit, so there’s plenty new art to enjoy.
