Happy Spring! With the blossoming of trees, and happiness of Jonquils raising their colorful heads, hope seems to be in the air. The anticipation of once again mowing the grass, wearing shorts and sandals, and outdoor activities is quite exciting to me! Cautiously, I’m feeling that normalcy to life might be returning after two years of fears of having, or spreading Covid duringthis punishing pandemic.
PAPA members have shown courage and persistence by pressing on with caution and safety to keep our doors open and to show our work! By the way, our sales have been amazing! I challenge those of you that have stepped back for this time, to come back and become a part of this dedicated group.
The Woman’s Club Art Show will return to City Hall , April 25th-May 6th, another great sign! Entry forms are available at the Gallery.
More encouraging signs are the AQS Quilt Show April 28th-30th, 40 Riverboats scheduled to visit Port of Paducah, other Festivals returning, and more.
A Derby Party will involve many activities May 7th. Our part will be to have paintings with Derby themes, Plein Air Painters outside and more activities inside. More to come.
Cindy and Suzanne continue to work their magic to draw visitors to the Gallery! Suzanne is developing an email list to keep patrons and interested parties informed of our show changes, Featured Artists and other opportunities, plus the Google site and everything involved there. Cindy is working the Website to make the use easy, for all. I just watched a YouTube she made to help you to submit your Artist Page, I am so impressed with the work they love to do! By the way, I now have an Artist Page, with Cindy’s help! If I can do it…..anyone can! Thanks these ladies for all they do!
The Gallery Show will change April 25th and 26th. The usual number of paintings for each category. Our next meeting will be March 29th. Sandi will be working with “Drafting Mylar Paper”. The Challenge is Glasses idea by Rebecca Mueller Williams. April Challenge is New Beginnings.
Scott Morris has been the Featured Artist for March, hope you have seen his wonderful show! Vicki Gingrich will be Featured Artist in April.
