April showers bring May flowers as the saying goes, and this little one is ready to go out and enjoy some puddles! In her painting, The Yellow RaincoatGerry Marcum captured the innocent smile of this child ready for the rain with her best loved doll. It’s easy to see why this painting was voted as the People’s Choice for March. You can see it in the gallery this month or view it and other favorites online here.

The artist challenge for March was Animals That Live in the ColdMaryann Huebschmann treated us with this peek into the lives of birds who seem to be discussing the finer points of how to make the best of the situation. For the Birds makes you wonder whether they complain just like we do or laugh at our human grievances while they just carry on. See all the other artistic interpretations in the challenge section or online here.

Nothing is more luxurious than this.” ~ Max Beckmann 1884 – 1950
