Do you feel that summer is slipping away? It seems like only two weeks ago, I could not wait for warmer weather, to plant my flowers! I always tell you, that I love fall’s crisp, cool weather, buying new clothes, loving the bright colors of leaves, and anticipating the holidays…I still love it all!
Fall brings many opportunities encouraging us to paint. Just to name a few, the Gallery Show change is Oct. 28th and 29th, with the addition of ornaments; the $10 Miniature Sale begins Nov.15th, plus various shows Cindy will tell us about at the meeting and then, on the Website.
Our next meeting is Aug. 27th, 7:00 at the gallery. The program is on “Gesture Drawing”. I just read, that daily practice of Gesture Drawing, develops the way you see, as an artist! Diane’s programs help us to learn and grow, in our craft.
Thank you, Ellen Hunt, for your Featured Artist Show! She has already sold two of her paintings! I love, especially, the Grand Piano! Looking forward to Martha Brown’s show in September.
The Challenge Paintings have just been outstanding! This month, “Paint a Sunflower” and in September Paint a Still Life”.
The AC at the Gallery, died, just before our last meeting! No one melted, but it was very hot! A new Compressor was ordered and installed….happy ending. Apologies from our Landlord for the length of time it took to arrive.
Before September 6, be sure to see John and Chad’s “Father and Son Show”, at the Hotel 1857, just beyond the pink building on Kentucky Ave. I have been twice, it is sooo good! I always tell the person working, that they are PAPA members.
Get busy painting, and I will do the same. As always, thanks, for all you do for PAPA.
