Well, I hope you enjoyed President’s Day, yesterday. It was a milestone day for
me, as I hit 75!!! Whew! The 19th is a big day at our house, it is also Charles’
birthday, two of his nephew’s and our first dog’s birthday! Amazing!
At our last meeting, the membership, upon recommendation of the Board,
welcomed Heather Reid, as our newest Board Member. We all look forward to
working with Heather, so if you have any ideas, or suggestions, share them with her,
or any other Board Member.
Coming April 8th, is another Solar Eclipse, passing over Paducah and much of
the area. Paducah Main Street, is planning a big party in downtown Paducah, to
celebrate the event. At Jenny Fuller’s suggestion, PAPA will offer a “Show Within
a Show of Miniatures”, related to the Eclipse. Please bring, to the Gallery, two
paintings by March 30th, size should be 8×10, or smaller. Remember, the 8×10
Is measurement of the outside of the frame. Label the back of the frame with
your name, painting name, medium, and price. For this show, Non-Exhibiting
Members, are invited to participate. PAPA will take 35 per cent of the sale and the
Show will continue through April.
Plans are not complete, but for the Oct.-Jan. Show, we want to include Hand-
Painted Ornaments, won’t that be fun? More details, to come.
Our next meeting is Feb. 27th at 7:00. The Program will be led by Keith Murphy,
the topic will be “What it Means to be a PAPA Member. The Challenge is “Paint
a Cardinal”. Diane Ireland is the Featured Artist for March. Thanks, to Janet Barrett,
for her beautiful show in February!
Any one trying Collage? The Eclipse Show may be a good time to experiment!
Didn’t you enjoy that presentation?
Well, as always, thanks, for all you do for PAPA!
