June’s featured artist Charles David Alexander, has a special feel for faces. In this exhibit he shares portraits he’s painted of many of the friends and family he’s chosen to memorialize in oil. In Across from Me, you can sense that it was a warm day. You can imagine how the cold drops on the beverage glasses feel when you reach to pick one up. You can’t see the cell phone in her hand but you can see how it is lighting up her face as she gazes at you. The background shows only enough to let you know others are around, but are unimportant compared to the person gazing back at you.
