April 1991, Clyde Lawter gathered local artists and together, they formed Paducah Area Painter’s Alliance.  His idea was met with enthusiastic support, to educate, support, and encourage local
artists.  Thirty one years later, his idea is still alive and well, at 124 Broadway!  1993, we incorporated and in January 1998, moved to our present location.  We are so blessed to continue to have this place to show and sell our work.  Thank you, for your continued support of Clyde’s amazing idea!

The 85th Woman’s Club Art Show will return to City Hall! Take your entries April 23rd, to City Hall.  The Ice House of Mayfield is once again offering classes, check their website. May 4th at 9:00 we will have Plein Aire Painting At Whitehaven. Downtown Paducah will host a Derby Day Party, May 7th with a host of activities.  These are a few opportunities for you.

Time for our Gallery Show Change!  Bring your work April 25th and 26th.  Entry amounts are the same, 4 framed, 4 unframed, 7 minis, and 8 cards.  The meeting is at 7:00.  Our program will be a Charcoal Demonstration emphasizing Values by Randy Simmons, Art Instructor At Paducah School of Art.  The Challenge Painting is New Beginnings, idea by Brenda Foster.  Next month’s Challenge is Animal, idea by Mark Cope.

Vickie Gingrich is the Current Featured Artist and Gerry Marcum will be Featured in May.  One neat aspect of the feature is learning the artistic journey of the artist, as well as the quality of the work!

For the past ten years or so, Charles and I have been hanging quarterly art shows at the  Paducah McCracken County Library. Your work has been enjoyed by many patrons and especially, the staff!  All good things must end, and will, with the current show. Due to an injury to his arm, several years ago, this task has become increasingly painful to Charles.  Thank you, for cheerfully allowing me to take your paintings for this show!  We also thank the Library,
for allowing us to show our work.

Busy times, for us now!  Our February and March sales have been very strong and should continue.  So, as always, thank you for all you do for PAPA.
