It all started when a small group of local Paducah artists realized a common need. They wanted to learn more about fine art and painting. With varying degrees of skill and knowledge they began meeting together to share and learn. Soon it was evident they needed some structure to their group and the Paducah Area Painters Alliance was born.

From it’s founding in 1991, PAPA’s membership has grown many fold and now has a place of its own to meet, work and exhibit. We continue to share knowledge and support those who wish to learn more about visual arts and painting.

Our Goal:

PAPA strives to trigger an internal imagination by providing enrichment, challenge and artistic opportunities for all people of the region. All shows, programs, activities and services are provided equally without regard to ethnic background, income. gender, age, or disability. Recognizing that education is our greatest resource, PAPA places special focus on providing a learning environment and encouraging the exchange of acquired knowledge. All shows sponsored by the Paducah Area Painter's Alliance are free to the general public.

The mission of the Paducah Area Painter's Alliance is to provide, promote and activate interest in all branches of the visual arts by presenting a wide range of artistic opportunities and activities to meet the varied needs and taste of both the artists and the viewing public.
